This year's flu season is one of the worse

The Arctic Cold Blast and all of those winter storms have done nothing but bring about one of the worse flu seasons ever.

I tell you, “This flu season sucks big time.” During a press conference about this terrible flu season, Dr. Dan Jernigan of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) told the press he has identified two factors distinguishing this flu season from past flu seasons that were not so cool. No pun intended.

Unlike past flu seasons, the flu spread throughout the country like wildfire and it has shown no signs of subsiding.

The folks who are getting the brunt of it are those who are 50 and up. The H3N2 is the strain of flu virus that has been causing all of this ruckus.

In 2010, the H3N2 flu virus first made its presence known. The virus was identified in pigs. Yup, the swine flu is what folks call it.

A year later, H3N2 started showing up in the human population. The CDC reports that 12 people had the virus.

After that year, more and more folks began getting the swine flu without coming in contact with the swine.

Those who tend to be at greater risk are ol’ folks who are 65 and older, women who are pregnant, folks with health problems, and young children.

The best thing to do is to stay away from sick people and go to the doctor if you get in contact with sick people.

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like any of this is going to subside, we are heading into the month of February and that month tends to be as cold as fuck. Bundle up.
